Why "The Third Place"?
The concept of a "third place" was introduced by sociologist Ray Oldenburg in his 1989 book "The Great Good Place". In it, he describes third places as a space outside of the home (the first place) and work (the second place) where people gather, connect, and build a sense of community. Traditional third places include coffee shops, libraries and community centers - places that foster conversation, relationships, and a feeling of belonging.
While we don't have one physical space (yet), The Third Place embraces this idea, creating an intentional community both online and in-person.
The Not-Church

We believe that humans thrive when they are deeply known, seen, and supported. We come together not out of obligation, but from a desire for connection, conversation, and collective joy.
